Want to get involved?

ModeShape sounds pretty cool, doesn't it? And you're probably psyched and ready to dive in. In fact, you're probably just the person we've been waiting for. Come on, you know you'll love it!

Seriously, we're always looking for smart and hard-working people to help out. It's really rewarding, and it's also a lot of fun. And it's really easy to get involved. If you read blogs, subscribe to our's. Read or ask questions on our discussion forums. Or hop onto IRC.

But the best way is to just to start playing with the code. Read the Getting Started guide, download the examples, and get them running. Dive into the rest of our documentation for even more detail. Then have a look at (or clone) our source code repository, run the build, and take a look at the code.

If you're looking for something small, take a look at the outstanding issues in JIRA. If something peaks your interest, take a whack at it. Or pop onto IRC and we can point to you some simple places to start. Several committers started out writing custom sequencers, and a few jumped to writing a connector. Others started out by fixing bugs and submitting patches.

It doesn't really matter how you get started - just that you try. You'll be glad you did!
